Update 7/10/20: I've ordered a Flirc case and now OC to 6 (voltage)/2000 (CPU)/750 (GPU). I'm fairly sensitive to these things, so your tolerance may be higher. Note: I define playable as reasonably smooth and stable gameplay with no egregious glitches or issues (particularly major input lag). If you have anything to add (including any different results with overclocking), please do so and I will update this post. I also use all stock settings, though sometimes double resolution works just fine. I do not overclock at all, so for now at least, this is aimed at anyone else who isn't either. Switching to 320x240 in the settings improved performance a lot on the games I tried."Įdit: /u/Fluffy-Quit uses the following OC with no cooling (but sufficient airflow) and still only pushes 49 degrees (with Goldeneye): arm_freq=1650 gpu_freq=600 v3d_freq=600 over_voltage=3 ~90% of the time I use lr-mupenplus (best compatibility) but a handful of games will require or be fine with a different emulator.Įdit: /u/Quicksilver7837 recommends mupen64plus-gliden64 or lr-mupen64plus-next as default emulator (as they're current), then the other as second choice, with the rest as tertiary options.Įdit: /u/alberto-balsam: "lr-mupen64plus-next had the resolution set to 640x480 by default for me.

z64 versions of Pokemon Puzzle League and Super Smash Bros, and have ended up with the same results.I've been testing a ton of N64 games since slightly before the Retropie 4.6 launch up until today, so I thought I might as well share my findings so far (as well as incorporate some community knowledge), as this is the problem platform for Pi 4. n64 extension, but this may be completely irrelevant. It may be pure coincidence, but i seem to have more issues with roms that have a. Jumping in the water does not end the minigame, which means you’re stuck. In Mario Party 1, at the start of the ‘Mushroom Mix-Up’ minigame, Toad raises a flag but the CPU players do not budge, neither do the mushrooms. When racing in F-Zero X, the game stutters if there are too many players on the screen at once. Opening games such as Mario Party 3 and Pokemon Puzzle League leaves only a black screen with an input overlay, why? In other games, i experience lots of audio/video stutters… particularly in some main menus.

I play N64 on my Android (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) using the Mupen64plus core, and was wondering if someone could help me diagnose some problems? Many games run perfectly fine, but some do not play quite the same.
